I can’t tell you how many times at bridal consults I discuss the top fears and inquiries for making sure a bride has the perfect photoshoot on one of the most important days of their lives. Wedding photos capture the essence of a fairy tale day and our job is to make it as magical as we can. When we have the first consult with a bride, it is usually in the beginning stages of wedding planning. Over the years I have compiled a list of the top 4 pre-wedding photo prep regimens that my brides rave about. I will list them here. Please keep in mind these are regimens that my brides have sworn by and they may or may not share my personal opinions. That being said, they sure made my job easy by having a gorgeous subject to capture on film. Let’s get started.
A bride who feels amazing on her wedding day will radiate that through captured moments with photography. the amazing feeling of knowing you have worked so hard to have the perfect body for your big day will certainly show in your confidence and others will see and feel it. Your face will light up for the camera and let’s face it, who doesn’t want to show off all that hard work?
Are you already part of a gym? If not, join one? See a personal trainer. Or even look up online workouts if you can’t make it to the gym with all the planning and hustle bustle. I know for a fact there are hundreds if not thousands of ‘wedding day boot camp workout’ routines for free and at the touch of a keyboard button.
How are your eating habits? Don’t let all that hard work go to waste by stuffing your face. Even when you’re stressed with all the planning and checklists. Your waistline and complexion will thank you for reigning in the compulsive eating. I speak from experience because I too eat my feelings!
By now, you’ve been thinking of what styles you’d like to try for your hair. Now is the time to start treating it right so you have glowing hair on your big day. Is there a certain style that will require it to be a little longer? Start growing it out now. Use a weekly deep conditioner and don’t do anything drastic to your hair from now until your wedding day. And let me echo the clean eating habit from step one. It will also play a big role in helping you have gorgeous and shiny locks.
Going somewhere tropical for the honeymoon? Heck, wearing skimpy lingerie on the wedding night? You may want to go for that laser liposuction for the problem areas that take a little extra effort after you’ve lost the extra weight. If it’s going to be your first time having lipo, our brides highly recommend doing this months in advance. This will allow safe time for healing and bruising to dissapate. You’ll feel more confident getting rid of those problem areas. We all have them. Some of us need that extra cosmetic procedure to help with certain areas. If you’re in the Colorado Springs area, I recommend my friends over at Plastic Surgery Colorado. They offer professional and experienced laser lipo Colorado Springs. Tell them we sent you!
To lower your anxiety levels, I can not stress enough the importance of scheduling a test run for your hair-do, makeup and spray tan. if that’s your thing. Nothing brings a bride to tears quicker than having a look they envisioned and then seeing the final product. My sister-in-law did 3 test runs with her makeup and third time’s a charm. Don’t let your stylist hold the vision of what she/he wants. Communication is very tricky with this stuff so make sure you both see eye to eye beforehand. Same goes for your hair. About spray tans- if you have no time to naturally tan or that just isn’t your thing, don’t wait until right before the wedding to go for the spray tan. It can be a tricky science for how long it takes to settle and look natural and sun kissed. So give this a test run and you may find out that the magic number is a 2-3 day old spray tan that looks the most natural and had a chance to calm down a bit.
